A review on MizuMi Smooth Cleansing Water (and why everybody should be raving this!)

Double-cleansing is a must !  You've heard every skincare junkie say that, right? Well, it's true though. Double-cleansing is really a must in every skincare routine. You wanna remove all the leftover makeup and dirt (even sunscreen!) on your skin before moving on to your water-based cleanser.  Always remember that the first step of your double-cleanse method is crucial since the leftover dirt on your face can cause you breakouts. As someone who have been a fan of double-cleansing for a long time now, I steered away from oil-based makeup removers in fear of having more breakouts (which is not true) so I opted for micellar water because for me it's way easier and I could see immediately if I have removed all the dirt on my face completely or not. The only micellar water that I bought (for my budget at the time) is the blue Garnier Micellar Water and I have read many reviews that it doesn't cause breakouts and it removes makeup way better which is why I've been using...

So I'll share a little story. Before the morena skin empowerment here in the Philippines, there were so many beauty products out there that had been marketed (and is still being marketed up to this day) to be 'instant whitening' or 'instant fair skin' and so on. When I was in high school, my mom would buy some of these products and let us try this on. I remember her telling us, "Put this product on your face and neck so it'll be whiter and blemish-free!" Because I was still naive back then, I did what I was told and the very next thing is, I look like that ghost in The Grudge movie! *screams in horror* And folks, that is how I decided not to purchase instant white creams.  Or maybe not. The thing is ever since I started my new skincare routine (read full blog here ), I have been experimenting with a lot of no-foundation makeup tutorials online. It's a tough call to forego foundation since it has been a staple on my makeup kit for the last two years...

If I were to choose between makeup and skincare (which is a very hard decision to make), of course I would still choose skincare. Why? Because no amount of makeup can cover up bad skin and I want to put makeup on my face with a smooth finish.  Plus, we all want to achieve that no makeup makeup look, right? 😉 Though I have been a skincare fanatic since I was 21, I only read the back ingredients and articles backed by science in forming my own skincare routine. And with that, came the price of me having breakouts here and there. The latest routine I had was incorporating Some By Mi Yuja Niacin serum in the morning and The Ordinary Retinol in 0.5% at night. I was even boasting to myself like, "Job well done!" But fate was like, "Nuh-uh!" and all hell broke loose. My mom was so concerned about it since there were so many bumps on my face. She bought me an acne set from Dermstrata and when my pimples started to clear up a little bit (I still have a few bumps left), I s...
